Steamboats Are Ruining Everything

Stalking

This morning, after I spotted this fairly rare, chicken-sized, dumpling-shaped bird, known as a sora, I got to alert fellow Brooklyn birders—a first for me. (Either this invidividual or a similar one was spotted in Green-Wood Cemetery about a week ago, but I missed that showing.) My pictures of it aren’t great, alas, since it was backlit and trying to hide in phragmites.
